Peshawar Zalmi 202 for 7 (Haider Ali 50, Rutherford 36*) beat Quetta Gladiators 198 for 7 (Sarfaraz 81, Azam 47) by 3 wickets.

Quetta Gladiators lost their third consecutive PSL match this season as late fireworks from Sherfane Rutherford and Wahab Riaz handed Peshawar Zalmi a brilliant victory.

The Gladiators provided an impressive batting performance and managed to score 198 runs by the end of the 20 overs.

Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was the standout batsman who struck a scintillating 81 runs off 40 balls, while Faf du Plessis and Azam Khan also contributed well.

After posting such a formidable target, the match looked greatly in favour of Quetta, but their bowlers once again failed to shine at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Despite significant contributions from Imam-ul-Haq, Haider Ali, and Shoaib Malik, the Sarfaraz-led side still looked like the favourites in the game. And when Dale Steyn was preparing to bowl the 19th, the Yellow Storm still needed 27 runs from 12 balls.

However, the South African bowler proved extremely expensive as Peshawar took 21 runs from his over, with Riaz hitting two sixes and Rutherford one.

Zalmi lost two more wickets in the final over but they went on to win by three wickets in the end.
