Premier League Weekend Predictions: Liverpool and Arsenal to win away from home?

The football season is in full flow with European action this midweek – how will it affect teams in the Premier League this weekend?

Here’s a look at the best bets for this weekend’s Premier League action:

Chelsea vs Liverpool

A heavyweight Premier League clash on Friday night sees Liverpool travel to the capital to take on a Chelsea side who failed to put Swansea City away in a game they dominated, drawing 2-2.

Jurgen Klopp’s side found their killer touch last weekend in a 4-1 thrashing of reigning champions Leicester City as Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana all had their shooting boots on.  On top of that, Philippe Coutinho is fresh for this weekend’s game to add to their attack.

Chelsea lost John Terry to add to their woes last weekend meaning David Luiz is very likely to partner Gary Cahill in this game, with Branislav Ivanovic already part of the back four.

This is a game that Roberto Firmino won over Liverpool fans last season in the number 10 role and don’t be surprised if the Brazilian co and put Chelsea’s defence to the sword in this one.

Value bet: Liverpool to win is 2/1

Hull City vs Arsenal

Arsenal return from their draw in Paris on Tuesday night hoping not to be fatigued for a trip to Hull City on Saturday.

The Gunners have recorded back-to-back victories in their last two Premier League outings as they are turning their season around after taking only one point from their first two league games this season.

To this point, Hull City certainly haven’t been overwhelmed since returning to the top flight, but with a small squad and interim manager one has to think time will catch up with them sooner rather than later.

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla versus the Tigers’ defence?  Surely there’s only one outcome in this match: an away win.

Best bet: Arsenal 5/8

West Brom vs West Ham

West Ham have been slow starters this season, none of their results more surprising than their 4-2 loss at home to Watford last weekend after throwing away a 2-0 lead.

However, this is a Hammers side who finished in the European spots last season, ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.  They’ve retained their key players and added to it.  And just like last season when they made a slow start, I expect they’ll turn it around in the very near future.

That could be as early as this weekend when they travel to the Hawthorns.  Not always an easy place to go but West Brom aren’t looking too good themselves under Tony Pulis and there’s certainly value on the Hammers at this price.

Value bet: West Ham 27/14

Watford vs Manchester United

Manchester United are looking to get back to winning ways after their Manchester derby defeat last weekend and should be capable of just that at Watford on Sunday lunchtime.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford are all capable of being match winners at Vicarage Road.  The hosts are without a clean sheet in four games under their new manager, whilst United’s defence had looked solid until Manchester City ran them riot last weekend.

Watford don’t have the talent of City so a clean sheet for United could very much be on the cards, but winning is the very least expectation from them.

Best bet: Manchester United 4/7
