Premier League transfer news: Bayern Munich in for David Luiz

Reports in the British press this morning have suggested David Luiz is a £35 million target for Bayern Munich. The Brazilian defender has also been linked with moves to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer £20 million to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United. Rooney is set to have talks with David Moyes this week over his future and he could be swiftly moved on if they don’t go well.

David Moyes has reportedly been told to up his bid for Everton left back Leighton Baines to £16 million. United made a £12 million bid for the defender last week, which was rejected.

Arsenal have completed the signing of France Under-21 striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxere. The Gunners haven’t had to pay a single penny for the 20-year-old after he became a free agent at the end of last season.

Brazilian holding midfielder Paulinho has confirmed he is set to join Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are expected to complete a £17 million deal for the player now the Confederations Cup has ended.

Swansea City are stepping up their bid to sign Jonjo Shelvey from Liverpool. The midfielder’s future at Anfield is currently up in the air and reports suggest Swansea will pay £5 million to sign him.

Sunderland have started talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the £5 million transfer of midfielder Tom Huddlestone. The deal is reportedly being part funded by the fee received from Liverpool for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has admitted that Fulham are ‘trying hard’ to sign Bakary Sako. Jackett says he is resigned to losing the midfielder before the start of the new football season.
