adam-lallanaSouthampton star Adam Lallana has revealed that he is unaffected by the recent speculations surrounding his future as he remains fully focused on England’s preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The 26-year-old had an impressive season with the Saints, where he bagged nine goals and had six assists to his name from 38 league appearances. His brilliant run for Southampton has seen him attract interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

An earlier report from BBC suggested that Brendan Rodgers’ side has already made an approach in bringing the England international to Anfield. However, Lallana remains unconcerned by the rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool.

“Whether my future gets sorted before or after the World Cup makes no difference to me. I am just fully focused on doing well for England and performing as well as I can,” Lallana said.

The England midfielder admitted that he is surprised to be in Roy Hodgson’s squad for the summer event in Brazil and has revealed that hard work has been the reason behind his recent success on a personal level.

“Four years ago, I was playing in League One and I was watching the World Cup with my mates. If someone had said to me then that I would be participating in the next one, obviously I would have not believed them one bit,” Southampton star explained.

“That just proves what can happen when you work hard and get your head down. I’m delighted and I still can’t quite believe it,” Lallana concluded.

The former Swansea manager signed a new long-term contract at Anfield and has been backed by the Reds’ owners in bringing new players to the club in the summer transfer window.

Rodgers has set his sights on signing Lallana as Liverpool prepare £30m bid in landing the talented midfielder in the summer transfer window. The Reds are in the Champions League next season and the Saints man has expressed his desire to feature in the Europe’s elite club competition next season.

“I’m ambitious. I have aspirations to play in the Champions League. Ever since I’ve played international football, you realise there’s that other level to play at. It would be great,” the midfielder stressed.

“I went to a couple of the Champions League games last year and the feeling you get, the buzz, it’s an unbelievable atmosphere. It’s definitely a goal of mine to play in the Champions League.”
