Manchester United will travel to Germany to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League Group A tie, where a victory for David Moyes’ team would guarantee a position in the next rounds of this competition.

Team News: Robin van Persie missed the last match against Cardiff City with a groin injury and he is doubtful for this tie. Likewise, Nemanja Vidic, Phil Jones and Shinji Kagawa are all doubtful for this game.

However, Danny Welbeck returned to full fitness and took part against Cardiff in the second half. He is expected to start against the Germans.

Defence: Vidic missed the trip to Cardiff with a knock and could miss the trip to Germany too. In his absence, Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand will have the take the central defensive role. Chris Smalling will continue in absence of Rafael at the right-back while Patrice Evra will continue on the left-back role.

Midfield: Tom Cleverley and Marouane Fellaini started at the heart of midfield against Cardiff but here Brazilian Anderson could be given a chance, as Fellaini is suspended for this game.

Forward: Javier Hernandez started in the last match in absence of Robin van Persie and the Mexican could start again, as the Dutchman still recovering from groin injury. On the wings, Moyes could deploy either of Valencia or Nani.
