Liverpool will take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, looking to register their first victory against them at this venue in the league since November 1984.

The Reds bounced back strongly after back to back defeats at the hands of Manchester City and Chelsea, with victories against Hull City and Old Ham in the Premier League and FA Cup respectively.

Stoke City are on good form as well and are unbeaten in their last seven matches, winning three of them.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers gave some positive injury news ahead of this tie. The Reds will miss out Daniel Agger, but they will welcome Mamadou Sakho for this game. Young Jon Flanagan has yet to recover from injury, hence expect Aly Cissokho to take the left-back role.

In the midfield, Steven Gerrard who returned to full fitness recently will partner Brazilian Lucas Leiva, while Jordan Hernderson and Coutinho will take the advanced positions behind the strikers.

Daniel Sturridge is fit again and has been included in the squad. It will be interesting to see, whether Rodgers draft him straight into the first team or bring him from the bench. In that case, Raheem Sterling could start in a 4-3-3 formation.

Prediction: 1-2; Liverpool carved out a heroic victory in the corresponding fixture and expect them to return with full three points for the first time in many years from Britannia.
