Arsenal will travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the final Champions League group game on Wednesday night, where the Gunners will be aiming to secure the top spot in Group D.

The Gunners have endured a frustrating campaign so far – not only the results have been poor but the performance to go along with it hasn’t been any where near to acceptable standards.

Soccerlens writer Sai has tracked down some of the reasons why Arsenal are struggling in the league, and he believes, it is their manager, Arsene Wenger, who needs to depart, albeit with his head held high, immediately.

Arsenal have already qualified to the knock out rounds, while Gala are knocked out as well, therefore this game doesn’t hold any extra significance, yet the outcome of the match could leave an impact for both the teams.

Back to back defeats for the Gunners will add more pressure on the manager, the fans may go restless that can create an instability at the club. Gala, under manager, Hamza Hamzaoğlu, has started off well, winning 3 out of 3 and the Turkish giants will be looking to end their disastrous Champions League campaign on a high.

Arsenal team news

The Gunners have a long injury list, with several key players expected to miss out for this tie. Mathieu Debuchy, Mesut Ozil, David Ospina, Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby – are long term absentees, and naturally won’t take part on Wednesday.

Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez and Laurent Koscielny could be rested, so Lukas Podolski may get a rare game, while Calum Chambers, who was sent off against Stoke City, could start alongside Per Mertesacker.

Olivier Giroud has not been registered for the group games, hence Danny Welbeck will spearhead the attack.
