Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed terms with Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino on Wednesday.

The midfielder’s move to Anfield is subjected to medical and is with the Brazil squad for the ongoing Copa America in Chile, where his national side have made it to the last eight of the tournament.

With Barcelona star Neymar suspended for the remainder of the South American championship, Firmino is likely to lead Brazil’s attack for the business end of the tournament as Dunga’s side look to win the 2015 Copa America.

The former Bundesliga midfielder believes he has developed in all aspects and is ready to take the challenge for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

“When I arrived at Hoffenheim I could already play football, but I’ve developed physically, technically and tactically since then,” Firmino told Liverpool’s official website.

“The Bundesliga is one of the world’s best leagues. I had to adapt and improve to get by here, and although I’ve now reached a good level, there’s still more left to do. My own dissatisfaction is my biggest motivation.”

The Brazil international is the Merseyside club’s fifth summer signing after they signed James Milner from Manchester City, striker Danny Ings from Burnley, goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and defender Joe Gomez from Charlton Athletic.

Firmino was linked to Manchester United earlier this month. However, it is Liverpool, who have managed to secure his is signature.
