Okay, based on my Tottenham vs top 4 post, I thought I’d cover Newcastle in the same vein.

So far, I’ve come up with 6 players that would be worthy of a spot in the squads of the top four sides:

  • Michael Owen
  • Obafemi Martins
  • Kieron Dyer
  • Damien Duff
  • Shay Given
  • Scott Parker

Apart from Owen and Martins, I doubt anyone else would get a starting spot in Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal. In Arsenal, Martins would be lucky to make the bench, and in Chelsea, Duff would be in the same situation.

No defenders in that list – no surprise about that either. Think Newcastle will be bought soon? They’ve got the support, and more importantly, Newcastle have plenty of room to improve 🙂
