Which English player is worth 17m or more?

Darren Bent’s ludicrous / ridiculous 17m price tag (and the thought that West Ham might have been willing to pay that much) is proof enough that England clubs are being fleeced over English players. I wouldn’t imagine any European club picking up Bent for 10m, let alone 17m.

Think of Berbatov – 10.75m – and McCarthy – 2.5m – and already you have an idea of how over-priced English players are.

So here’s my question to you guys – which English-born player (qualification – must be an England cap and should be playing football currently) is worth 17m or more?
