Liverpool looks to go top of the table with a victory as they travel to Upton Park on Saturday to face West Ham.

For Liverpool, Xabi Alonso will miss the game after last week’s vicious tackle by Joey Barton, but Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano have been ruled fit to play.  A loss or draw for Liverpool would effectively kill their chances of catching Manchester United. Liverpool have only 2 away losses in the Premiership on the season and currently on an 8 game unbeaten streak. Torres and Gerrard will need to provide the form they’ve shown all season to earn 3 points against a solid West Ham side.

West Ham United are currently 7th in the league table and winless in their last 3 matches. The Hammers are in 7th place with 48 points and in a Europa League spot for next season. A win over Liverpool would strengthen their chances for European football next season with only a few games left. West Hame have conceded just 2 goals in their last five home matches (in all competitions) and will need to contain a dangeorus Liverpool attack.

The teams played in December to a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
