The club football returns after two weeks of international break and there is already a lot of buzz in the Premier League due to several changes in the management at two clubs, Liverpool and Sunderland.

In this preview, we talk about Watford’s clash against Arsenal. They are one of the three teams who secured promotion to the Premier League and in the last fixture, they faced AFC Bournemouth, who also made it to top flight of English football for the first time in their history.

The fixture ended in a 1-1 draw as Quique Sánchez Flores is searching for the third league win after eight matches. The worrying fact for Watford is that they have failed to keep a clean sheet in last six matches.

Arsenal have got a mental boost following their 3-0 victory over Manchester United. The most important part of the win is that they scored all the goals in less than 20 minutes in front of their home crowd.

Mesut Ozil’s goal was sandwiched between Alexis Sanchez’s brace and that helped Arsene Wenger’s side climb to the second spot in the Premier League table. They have 16 points after eight matches and are level on points with third place United and two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Team News

Watford has several causalities for the clash against Arsenal. Defender duo of Joel Ekstrand and Lloyd Doyley are set for long spells on the sidelines.

Attacking midfielder José Manuel Jurado suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to return next month, while a calf injury Ikechi Anya will force him to miss the weekend clash.

Laurent Koscielny’s hamstring injury could see him sit on the sidelines. He is joined by midfield duo of Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky on the sidelines.

Former United man Danny Welbeck is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as the England international is targeting a return next year.
