The United States booked their spot in the final four of the Copa America, but they’re three key players for their semi-final tie against Argentina.

Bobby Wood and Alejandro Bedoya both picked up their second yellow card of the competition in the USA’s 2-1 win over Ecuador and are not available for selection.

Jurgen Klinsmann will be also without one of his most trusted players in Jermaine Jones, who picked up a red card for putting his hand into the face of an Ecuador player.

USA’s appeal to have Jones and Wood’s disciplines overturned, as USSF announced that their appeals were officially denied and that both players will miss out on the semi-final against Argentina.

Klinsmann has plenty of options to choose from: in the midfield, either of Kyle Beckerman, Perry Kitchen, and Darlington Nagbe could come in while there are options on the wings in the form Christian Pulisic. Matt Besler can play at left back, which means there are options available forKlinsmannn but he’ll have a lot of thinking to do before naming his final starting XI.

Argentina are brimming with confidence at the moment having won all their matches up to this point, including a thumping 4-1 victory over Venezuela in the quarter-final. Lionel Messi making his first start in the last match, produced a sensational performance and became Argentina’s top scorer with 54 goals, equalling the record of legendary Gabriel Batistuta.

The hosts will start as huge underdogs but they have nothing to lose. Klinsmann’s side are 11/2 with Ladbrokes to progress to the finals. Clint Dempsey has been in good form and has been amongst the goals, so back both teams to score at 10/11.
