I’m back to give you another rundown of the latest transfer news and rumors from the world of football, and while I don’t know what Dimitar Berbatov ate for breakfast, I do have plenty else for you, including a bit about who his current club are set to sign.

The Sun says that Chelsea are interested in Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano, and the Blues could shortly make a move for the Brazilian, who scored 31 goals for Sevilla last season.

Rumor Rating: 4 – Luiz Felipe Scolari is already set to add Robinho to his ranks within the next couple of days, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to add even more quality firepower.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee with Espanyol for winger Albert Riera.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Well, that’s another long-running saga we can finally put to bed, I hope. I wonder how annoyed David Moyes is right now….

Tottenaham could be set to sign a striker, as Russian star Roman Pavlyuchenko says that he is close to a move to London. The 26-year old Spartak Moscow man said he won’t be playing in Spartak’s Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kiev due to his impending signing for Tottenham, and a Spartak spokesman says that a verbal agreement has been reached.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Spurs have also reportedly made a move for AC Milan striker Marco Borriello. Maybe their signing of a striker could speed things up with a Berbatov sale, but if not, he can have fun setting a reserves league scoring record.

Blackburn have signed Torino midfielder Vince Grella for £4m. The 28-year old Australian international has penned a four-year deal to move to England.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Grella has plied his trade in a top-level league for many years now and has done well internationally as well, so he’s an excellent addition for Paul Ince.

Sunderland have completed the £8m signing of West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Meanwhile, the club has rejected a £1.5m bid for veteran defender Danny Higginbotham.

West Brom have agreed a £2.5m fee for Charlton’s Zheng Zhi. The Chinese midfielder has been linked with a move for quite a while this summer, and it looks like he’ll be the latest addition to Tony Mowbray’s laundry list of summer signings.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Those summer signings haven’t thus far paid off, but for the sake of all that they’ve spent, the points need to start coming.

Southampton have signed highly-rated Tottenham prospect Tomas Pekhart on loan.

Rumor Rating: 5 – The 19-year old Czech starlet did very well during the preseason for Spurs, but this will be a great opportunity for Pekhart to get his feet wet and prove himself ahead of a push to be in Spurs’ first team in the near future.

Roma are reportedly set to complete a deal for Inter striker David Suazo.

Rumor Rating: 5 – At the same time, there’s a conflicting report that Palermo is in the mix for him, but I’d have to give the edge to Roma. This may well mean that Jeremy Menez will stay at Monaco for now, if Roma wanted to go with a cheaper option instead of shelling out a sizable fee for Menez.

Fiorentina are expected to make a move for Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso sometime this week.

Rumor Rating: 2 – Burdisso wasn’t at his best last season, but he’s no doubt in Jose Mourinho’s plans right now due to the number of injuries in Inter’s defense, so a move might not be in the cards right now.

Milan Baros has left Lyon and joined Galatasaray on a three-year deal. The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker cost the Turkish champions a reported €5.5m fee.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Baros, who’ll join former Liverpool teammate Harry Kewell in Istanbul, hasn’t exactly prospered at club level, especially recently, but he could rejuvenate his flagging career in Turkey.

Steve McClaren’s Twente squad has taken another hit, as Australian midfielder Luke Wilkshire has moved to Dynamo Moscow for an undisclosed fee, becoming the first Australian to play in the Russian Premier League.

Rumor Rating: 5 – The price you pay for success, eh? That’s the latest hit to Twente’s midfield, as they lost Orlando Engelaar to Schalke earlier in the summer and also said goodbye to Karim El Ahmadi, who signed for Feyenoord.

Well, that’s it for another day in transfer news and rumors. I’ll be back to give you all the latest tomorrow, but until then, chime in with your thoughts on today’s tidbits, chip in with ones you’ve read and heard, and make sure you check out the updated summer transfer lists to keep up with the latest confirmed signings from several top leagues.
