Since it’s Saturday, I’m going to make today’s roundup relatively short, but there’s still plenty of news and rumors to report on (besides the ongoing ‘will he or won’t he?’ saga with Cristiano Ronaldo).

While Gael Clichy is likely going nowhere after signing a new four-year contract, Barcelona are saying that they’ve got a 22.5 million pound deal for Emmanuel Adebayor all but locked up.

Rumor Rating: 3 – I’m starting to lean towards him leaving, but we’ll see if there’s anything definitive in the next few days.

Former Fulham defender Carlos Bocanegra has penned a three-year deal with Rennes.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Bocanegra’s signing could mean that Portsmouth’s Djimi Traore, who was on loan at the club, may be returning to England.

Wigan striker Julius Aghahowa, who never really found his footing in a year and a half in England, has moved to Turkish side Kayserispor on a three-year deal.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Well hey, he always kicked ass in Football Manager. Well, he used to, at least (I haven’t played the game since it was Championship Manager).

Portsmouth have signed Reading winger Glen Little on a 12-month deal. The 32-year old was offered a new deal by Reading, but he elected to stay in the top flight and get a chance to play in Europe.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Little, who missed much of last season with an Achilles’ injury, spent much of his career with Burnley, but he’s also played for Crystal Palace, Bolton, and Glentoran in his career.

If Tottenham sell Dimitar Berbatov, they could line up Real Zaragoza’s Diego Milito as a replacement, though they may have to fight it out with Valencia, if David Villa exits.

Rumor Rating: 3 – Neither club will have to break the bank for the 29-year old, as he could cost only 10 million pounds.

Lyon and France #1 Gregory Coupet could be headed to Atletico Madrid soon, as the 35-year old made a visit to Madrid this week to discuss personal terms with club representatives.

Rumor Rating: 4 – Coupet has a contract with Lyon until 2010, but the club are willing to let him go, and they already have his replacement in new signing Hugo Lloris.

Real Betis are interested in two France-based players, in Rennes midfielder Stephane M’Bia and Toulouse defensive midfielder Achille Emana. The club have reportedly made two bids for the latter of the Cameroonian pair, with their most recent bid coming in at six million euros.

Rumor Rating: 3 – Toulouse are reportedly holding out for eight mil for Emana, while Rennes could be looking for as much as 12 million for M’bia.

Croatian striker Igor Budan has made the switch from Parma to Palermo for five million euros. The 28-year old played only 15 Serie A matches last term due to injury, but he scored seven times in those 15 appearances.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Budan will help fill the void left by Amauri’s departure to Juventus.

PSG striker Amara Diane has stated that he wants to leave the club, thanks to the manager Paul Le Guen’s attitude and the way that the club has treated him, namely trying to sell him to a club in Qatar.

Rumor Rating: 5 – This will no doubt put Newcastle on alert, as they’ve been linked with the 25-year old.

The Daily Mail says that Chelsea’s Claude Makelele could be set to move to PSG in the wake of Luis Felipe Scolari’s appointment as manager.

Rumor Rating: 4 – Makelele has only a year left on his current deal with Chelsea, so leaving right now is a definite possibility.

Well, that’s it for today. Comment away on what you think of the day’s rumors, chip in with your own, and I’ll be back with more on Sunday!
