Transfer speculation doesn’t take a day off, and in such case, neither do I, because I like to bring all the latest rumors and news to you.
The Daily Mail says that Barcelona’s Deco is poised to spurn Inter for Chelsea for a fee of 15 million pounds, which could clear the way for Frank Lampard to move to Inter.
Rumor Rating: 3 – It still surprises me that Lampard is being so heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea, but then again, anyone can leave their club at any given time these days.
Apparently Liverpool don’t care about Emmanuel Adebayor’s assessment of Nicklas Bendtner, as the Reds are reportedly lining up a 6 million pound move for the Danish striker.
Rumor Rating: 4 – For the foreseeable future, it doesn’t look like Bendtner’s going to be a regular starter at Arsenal, so maybe the Gunners would be willing to part with him at the right price. But 6 million – is that enough or too much?
Could Arsenal make a move for Shay Given? Arsene Wenger could be looking for a new #1, according to News of the World, and his target could be veteran Ireland man Given.
Rumor Rating: 5 – Given wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg, as he would reportedly be available for 3.5 million pounds.
Manchester United are expected to start talks with Aaron Ramsey soon, though Arsenal and Everton still have a say in the matter.
Rumor Rating: 5 – Reports lean towards United being the favorites to land the Cardiff youngster, but Arsenal (two fellow young Welsh stars, including best friend Chris Gunter, play for North London rivals Tottenham) and Everton (first-team football early on) can’t be ruled out at this point.
Kevin Keegan is pretty annoyed at Liverpool’s paltry offer for James Milner, as the Reds have offered three youth players for the Newcastle midfielder, who’s expected to leave due to wage cuts at the club.
Rumor Rating: 4 – Money talks, Rafa, money talks.
Blackburn’s Christopher Samba could be the subject of a 3.5 million pound bid from Sevilla, who are looking to make some additions on defense.
Rumor Rating: 4 – Right now is a pretty tough time for Blackburn, who are looking to hold to all of their key men as they search for a new manager.
Speaking of one of their key players, Manchester United could be set to use Louis Saha to boost their chances of signing Roque Santa Cruz.
Rumor Rating: 4 – Well, if Saha stays healthy, he’s got plenty of goals in him. If he doesn’t, well, he’s a headache.
And as for another one of Rovers’ key players, David Bentley, he’s reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s wish list to sign for Inter.
Rumor Rating: 5 – I’m thinking he stays in England, but we’ll see.
Roma’s Matteo Ferrari could make a move to AC Milan, as the 29-year old hasn’t agreed a new contract with the club yet, and Milan could go after him as a replacement for Dario Simic.
Rumor Rating: 5 – Ferrari has also been linked with the likes of Juventus, Inter, and Fiorentina.
