Want to sell a football ‘autobiography’? Then provocation and controversy are your best friends. That’s certainly the attitude of the people behind Jerzy Dudek’s offering; according to Dudek, during his time as Real Madrid’s no.2, Casillas told him that Torres was the most overrated footballer in the history of Spanish football.

Speaking of provocation, he pulled no punches with Leo Messi saying he was fake and “would say such rude things to Pepe and [Sergio] Ramos, things you would not imagine from a such a quiet and seemingly good person,” and criticised Barcelona under Pep Guardiola:

“They were so ready to provoke you and they were able to do it to perfection; that hurt Mourinho a lot. He said to us that we had too much respect, while [Barça] had none for us. He was angry with us that, after the 5-0, we swapped shirts with them.”

Real Madrid legends are also in the firing line of Dudek’s tell-all revelations calling them ‘egocentrics’ who would “prefer that the team wins 2-1 with their goals, than 5-0 without them on the score sheet.”

Controversy brings plenty of free press and free press brings sales, just look at Roy Keane / Alex Ferguson previous publications for reference.
