Germany

Germany will be looking for young stars to step forward and stake a claim for senior spots as they look to advance in what is ultimately a dress rehearsal for next year’s World Cup for some players.

Germany coach Horst Hrubesch will be confident his players can overcome Spain as he has lead Germany U19s last summer to a win over Spanish opponents. His team is a nice mix of youth and experience and he will hope that can stand them in good stead come Monday.

Midfielder Mesut Ozil will be the player to watch out for as this tournament could convince senior coach Joachim Low that he is ready for the rigors of international football.

Spain

With an extremely talented team at his disposal, Juan Ramon Lopez Caro will be confident of emulating the senior team’s feats on the Euro stage when they take the field against Germany on Monday.

Spain captain Raul Garcia has revealed that he will not be satisfied with being second best in this tournament. Garcia knows what he is talking about as it was his goal that took Spain to the finals of the tournament after a tense play-off game with Switzerland last October.

With the likes of the immensely talented Bojan Krkic in their ranks, Spain can look forward to having a good tournament despite being in a tough group that also features England and Finland.
