We think Stevenson will be too quick, too smart, too elusive an tricky to hit and just generally too good for Oscar Valdez. Without being disrespectful to the Mexican superstar, Stevenson is on a completely different level.
Although a points victory is out prediction, we will go one better this time for this tip and say it will be via unanimous decision. The reason for that is that we cannot see a world in which Oscar Valdez makes this a close fight.

As we have continuously waxed lyrical about how good Shakur Stevenson is and what he brings to the table, there is one other bet that catches out eye.
We think a unanimous decision win for the Newark native is highly likely, but people will be posing the question can Valdez stop him, like he has done 23 times out of his 30 career wins against his previously opponents.
We don’t think he can. If Valdez gets in close to land his big shots, we actually think this is more of a danger for the 31-year-old than it is for Stevenson. The reason being, Valdez will then be in range for Stevenson to land his big shots and fast combinations. This is why we think there is a slim chance that Stevenson could even end the fight without needing th judges scorecards.
Looking at his last fight versus Jamel Herring, Stevenson broke him down, round by round, before Herring couldn’t withstand anymore. Herring had to go for it, he knew he was behind on the cards and needed to take a gamble. A gamble which ended up in him getting knocked out.
