James Wade vs Michael van Gerwen
It’s a repeat of last weeks semi-final and the Night 9 final as Michael van Gerwen takes on James wade in the second match of the evening here in Dublin. ‘MVG’ won those two previous encounters, and we think it will be the same outcome this week as van Gerwen looks to claim top spot back off ‘The Ferret’ who he currently trails by a point in the league standings.

Gerwyn Price vs Joe Cullen
Neither of these men are showing their best form at the minute, but both are very much capable of turning it on when they need to. Price in particular has been in poor form, but he is still recovering from a hand fracture and surely isn’t far away from reaching his best again very soon. Here at SportsLens we think ‘The Iceman’ will be too strong for ‘The Rockstar’ and will improve on the last few weeks lacklustre displays.

Michael Smith vs Gary Anderson
It’s ‘The Student’ vs ‘The Master’ here in the third contest of the evening as Michael Smith takes on Gary Anderson. ‘Bully Boy’ and ‘The Flying Scotsman’ are both lingering at the foot of the Premier League table, with Anderson bottom on seven points and Smith 7th on eight points.
The St Helens’ man is the only player in the league who hasn’t yet won an individual night so far in this Premier League season, but we think he could go close tonight and get off to a flying starting against Anderson in Dublin where he has fond memories of hitting a nine-darter a few years ago.

Jonny Clayton vs Peter Wright
Do not take your eyes off this one, as it could be game of the night. Jonny Clayton is possibly the hottest property in darts right now and comes in oozing with confidence after winning last Thursday’s event in Aberdeen. Clayton edged Wright out 6-5 last week, but we think ‘Snakebite’ will be out for revenge this week and could put a halt to Clayton’s table topping hopes here at the 3Arena in Dublin.

Premier League Darts Prediction
Here at SportsLens, we think this week is a really difficult one to call. There are so many factors to consider this week in Dublin. Has Gerwyn Price’s hand injury healed? Will Peter Wright prove why he is the best player in the world? It really is impossible to call!
However, we have a feeling that it could be the week of Michael van Gerwen. ‘MVG’ has shown signs of his best form in recent weeks and months, and seems to have put that bad spell behind him. The Dutch darting superstar currently sits in second place just a point behind Jonny Clayton, but we think he will be top once again at the conclusion of play on Thursday evening.
Van Gerwen will have to overcome James ‘The Machine’ Wade in his first match, then either Price or Cullen in the semi-final. We think on current form that ‘MVG’ will be too strong for them all, and will find a route to the final where he will triumph once again.
The battle for top spot between van Gerwen and Clayton is mesmerising and looks like it will go down to the wire. The pair are almost guaranteed a Top 4 place, but their will be bragging rights on who can secure top spot come finals night at the O2 in London.
