Manchester United travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, looking to bounce back strongly after their opening day defeat at the hands of Swansea.
New manager Louis van Gaal kept himself busy on the transfer front over the week, as Manchester United secured their third major signing of the summer, Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon.
However, the new signing Rojo has not yet received his work permit so he won’t be able to play on Sunday.
Another new signing Ander Herrera will likely to miss out as well through injury while Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard have all been ruled out as well.
But the good news is Dutchman Robin van Persie is now fully fit and is ready to return for the Red Devils against Sunderland.
“Robin is ready to play, so that is a big benefit for our team,” van Gaal said in his pre-match press conference. “I’m very happy that he is now able to play.”
Here is the possible Manchester United starting lineup:
Prediction: 1-2; Adnan Januzaj was the hero last time for Manchester United when they visited Stadium of Light last time and the Belgium might well play a key role for their victory this time as well.
