I’ll be the first one to admit that Oxford Utd – a side that got relegated from League Two into Conference last season – is a bad side, but the goals Manchester United scored against them were quite nice (and a good morale boost ahead of the new season).
Manchester United’s starting lineup for the game:
Foster (Heaton 72); Bardsley, O’Shea (Evans J. 46), Silvestre, Heinze (Simpson 58); Ronaldo (Rossi 72), Fletcher, Jones D., Richardson (Martin 58); Solskjaer (Miller 72), Saha
Manchester United Goals
Both of Ronaldo’s goals were fairly special because of who created them – Phil Bardsley put in the cross that led to Ronaldo’s first goal, while David Jones’ perfect through-ball teed it up for Ronaldo to score his second. Manchester United have a good crop of youngsters coming through – although they need to be tested against quality Premiership opposition before we can pass any verdicts.
Thank you Oxford Utd for making us look so good 🙂
Oxford Utd Goal
I hadn’t included this until one reader thoughtfully pointed out that the goal was just as good as ours – and dammit, he’s right.
Nice goals all around…
