Manchester United vs Middlesbrough prediction
Manchester United have an enviable record against lower league opposition in the FA Cup, meaning Middlesbrough will have their work cut out to avoid defeat despite their recent good form.
Leeds United were the last Championship side to eliminate the Red Devils from the prestigious cup competition back in 2010 thanks to Jermaine Beckford’s only goal of the game.
But shot-shy Boro have scored the fewest goals of any team in the top half of their division so an upset does not look particularly likely under the Old Trafford lights on Friday night.
Ralf Rangnick’s side squeezed past Aston Villa 1-0 in the third round but in truth they were fortunate to emerge victorious after a second-half onslaught from the visitors which saw Ollie Watkins twice hit the crossbar.
Boro have nowhere near the firepower of the Villans and lack pace in attack so a comfortable victory is expected for United, who will be expecting to keep a clean sheet.

Manchester United vs Middlesbrough betting tips
Tightening up Manchester United’s defence has proved a tricky task for interim boss Rangnick but there are signs that his tinkering is beginning to pay dividends.
For once, captain Harry Maguire and Rafael Varane looked relatively composed as a central defensive pairing last time out against West Ham.
The Champions League-chasing Hammers were restricted to just six shots, with only one testing the recently over-worked David De Gea in goal.
Middlesbrough were rewarded with this glamour tie by beating Shrewsbury 3-2 in round three and their 5,000 travelling fans will be eyeing a giant killing.
New Boro boss Chris Wilder has overseen an uptick in form by utilising a 3-5-2 formation to win eight of his first 12 games at the helm.
But the wise money will be on the Red Devils to win both halves and progress to the fifth round in style.
