Brighton have a poor Premier League record at Old Trafford having lost on all four of their visits but the Seagulls’ away form has been very respectable this season. Four away wins alongside draws on the road against Liverpool, Leicester and West Ham see Graham Potter’s side jump to ninth place ahead of this clash. A win would see them overtake Tottenham. A win for United would put them fourth, albeit with 25 games played – three more than top four rivals Arsenal.

Brighton boss Potter said: “It says a lot that all of a sudden we’re spoken about as a competitor of Manchester United’s but the reality of both clubs is very different.” With Neil Maupay recapturing his goalscoring form and Adam Webster marshalling the defence excellently a historic win for the south coast outfit at Old Trafford is certainly a very real possibility.
