All fans of Carlos Tevez and reigning Premier League and European champions Manchester United can now heave a huge sigh of relief. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that contract talks with the Argentine international striker are currently in motion.

Tevez is actually on loan from MSI for until the end of the season and it has been said that Man United can sign him on a permanent deal only if they pay around 30 million pounds.

Manchester United have been coy so far on the matter as Tevez has found himself on the fringes of the starting XI this season. The Red Devils signed the Bulgarian international striker Dimitar Berbatov in the summer for 24 million pounds and this has led to Tevez warming the bench all too often.

Speculation has been rife that Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid were looking to swoop in on Tevez but Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed all those claims and has said that contract negotiations between the club and the player are going on.

The Daily Mail quoted Sir Alex as saying:

“It’s not as if we’ve been short on negotiations, there have been plenty of negotiations and I think that we all know that sometimes it can take a long time. David Gill, our chief executive, has been talking to his agent and therefore it’s best left with David because he’s good at that. We’re used to this over the years and we’re all used to it. You just have to be patient.”

So it seems like Manchester United fans are likely to see more of Tevez in the future. Good for them!
