Van Persie scored the opening goal for the Red Devils, as United won 2-0 comfortably. Wayne Rooney also returned to actions, after recovering from injury.

Mata, who hasn’t played regularly under Jose Mourinho this season, is looking to improve gradually and said as quoted by Sky Sports:

“Rooney and Robin are two of the best strikers in the world.

“It will be amazing to play alongside them. I just want to help them, and help the team win matches.”

Mata feels that Manchester United, currently languishing 7th in the Premier League, six points behind 4th placed Liverpool, can climb up the table over the rest of the season.

Further the 25-year-old is thrilled with the fact that how quickly he has settled into life at Old Trafford and says he has received an amazing welcome from everyone.

Meanwhile, manager David Moyes has insisted that having Rooney and Adnan Januzaj on the bench only suggests that United now have the strength in squad depth.
