Today’s City v Arsenal game confirmed what we already knew about certain players and, in context of the starts made by the two sides this season, gave us a fair prediction of the title / top 4 chances for both teams.

Adebayor is a c*nt. His tackles on Fabregas and RVP, his celebrations in front of the Arsenal fans, his general attitude towards the club that made him into what he is today, is quite disappointing (to say the least). It’s true that he is, like Tevez, using this opportunity to win over the fans of his new club and use the adulation to improve his performances. And it’s also true that at the end of the day, hated or not, it’s what happens on the pitch that counts. But he’s still a c*nt.

A good game at Eastlands, with Manchester City showing that they are favourites alongside Tottenham for a top-6 berth and that, quite possibly, in with a shout for a top 4 place. It would be too soon to say that they’re definitely playing in the Champions League next season – this team still has to play the other top 4 members – but as long as they can beat the top teams at home, they should be good enough to go to Europe, no? For now, they are probably better equipped than Tottenham to play in Europe, even though Tottenham seem to be a more settled team.

Arsenal – back to back defeats in Manchester, and this team still doesn’t have the strength to win the title. They’re still in the mix, and could nick it if Chelsea / United balls it up, but on the evidence of the last 5 years, probably not happening.

Next week sees City play United – which will definitely give us a better reflection of where the balance of power resides in Manchester this season.

On to the goals.
