SuarezCryLiverpool striker Luis Suarez should leave the Premier League and make a switch to La Liga, according to the player’s father-in-law Gustavo Balbi.

The Uruguayan international has recently been subjected with strong interests from Barcelona, who are set to beat their arch-rivals Real Madrid for the striker’s signature. Earlier we reported the Catalan club are preparing a €85m bid to land the former Ajax man in the summer transfer window.

Now, Suarez’s father-in-law has come out in public and urged the PFA Player of the Year to leave the Merseyside club and sign for either of the Spanish giants. Balbi believes the South American superstar has already proved in England the time is right for him to leave Liverpool.

“He has nothing else to prove (in England). It is the right moment for a change. He would not go to another English team out of respect for Liverpool. If he leaves the Premier League, his best option would be to play in Spain,” Balbi said, as reported in the Liverpool ECHO.

Suarez publicly expressed his desire to leave Liverpool last summer and was a target for Arsenal. However, the Anfield chiefs managed to retain their star player and rejected multiple offers from the Gunners.

The Liverpool ECHO reports that Brendan Rodgers’ side are aware of the growing interest from Real and Barcelona in signing Suarez. However, the Merseyside club are adamant their star player will be at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are unconcerned about the recent rumours linking Suarez with a move away from the club. The Reds remain confident that last season’s Premier League top scorer will be in England with the Anfield club next season.
