Real Madrid are keen to wrap up the transfer deal of Cruzeiro’s highly talented midfielder Lucas Silva this week, but both the clubs are yet to find an agreement.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid are favourite to sign Silva and that the deal could be done within this week.

The 21-year-old youngster claimed recently that joining Real Madrid would be a dream come true, and revealed his desires to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I don’t know if they are going to propose me joining them midway through or at the end of the season, whether I’ll stick around for the Copa Libertadores [South America’s equivalent of the Champions League] or not.

“I don’t yet know what’s going to happen. However it’d be interesting to stay for the Libertadores and then join them for pre-season,” he told SporTV.

Several of his team-mates are convinced that it is only a matter of time when he officially becomes a Real Madrid player.

Mayke, who played with him for four years said, as quoted by AS, via ESPN:

“Being able to play for a team like Real Madrid is the dream of any player. We know he will go, but he still can’t imagine it.”

Cruzeiro’s president Gilvan de Pinho Tavares had confirmed earlier that the club willing to sell their prized asset but only if the €15m valuation is met.

“There is no final offer,” Tavares said, via ESPN. “We are waiting for an official offer. We have already set the market price. For less than 15 million euros, Cruzeiro will not start to talk.”

Marca claim that Real Madrid have offered €12m, but it seem like Cruzeiro want full value for their player and won’t settle for other offers.

Last week we reported that Arsenal were one of the interested clubs and made a concrete offer for the midfielder, and it remains to be seen, whether they show further interest and hijack the deal by offering a better value for money.

Furthermore, Real Madrid are also exploring at the opportunities to sign German midfielder Christoph Kramer, in case they miss out Silva. Although they remain positive on Silva, they have sent representatives in Germany to hold talks with Kramer’s agent as well.

Marca claim this is a ‘decisive week’ in the Lucas Silva transfer saga – in few days’ time we will get a clear picture about the Brazilian’s future.
