According to reports in the Italian media, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is under the microscope following a dismal start to the campaign.
Rodgers helped bring Champions league football back at Anfield after five long years. However, the current start to the campaign cannot be overlooked.
TMW reports that an average transfer window in the summer has added to the doubts around Rodgers. The former Swansea manager has had an extremely poor transfer record at the club and his 100 million plus spend this season has failed to produce the goods so far.
Liverpool have had a poor start to the league and are third in their Champions league group as well. Upcoming games against Basel and an away trip to Bulgaria will decide if Liverpool will progress into the next rounds of the coveted tournament.
While its still unclear whether those results will have an impact on Brendan Rodgers’ future at Liverpool, crashing out in the group stages after returning to the competition after five years would surely leave the owners unimpressed, especially after the massive outlay in the summer.
