Leeds United remain keen on signing Mikkel Damsgaard from Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old made a big impression at the European Championships with Denmark, sparking plenty of interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

According to La Repubblica (h/t Sport Witness), Marcelo Bielsa is pushing hard to sign Damgaard this summer.

Leeds are not the only Premier League club interested in signing the Danish international, with Tottenham Hotspur also in the mix.

Leeds need more creativity in the final third and Damsgaard could prove to be a superb long term investment.

A move to Elland Road could be ideal for Damsgaard. He would get regular game time and Bielsa could help him improve further.

However, Spurs are a viable alternative to Leeds, with the club able to offer a more ambitious project.

The London club are viewed as one of the traditional ‘Big Six’, which makes them more attractive to overseas players.

Leeds are chasing European qualification this season, but Spurs have their sights set on a Champions League spot.

Damsgaard would probably be a regular starter at Leeds and that may boost their chances of signing him this summer.
