Hull City currently finds themselves in 10th place in the Premier League table with 11 points, three points behind Champions Manchester United. Steve Bruce’s side have yet to taste a defeat at home and would be looking to produce yet another solid performance against Gus Poyet’s side on Saturday.

Sunderland, courtesy of the Tyne Wear victory have moved one step up from the bottom place with just 4 points. So, even if they win against Hull City, they would still remain in the 19th place. But, Gus Poyet will be buoyed by the passion showed by his team against the Magpies and will be hoping for more of the same kind in their upcoming match.

Fabio Borini, on loan from Liverpool, came on as a sub and scored a wonderful goal to seal the tie in favour of the home side. Poyet has reverted to the old guards like Lee Cattermole, Phil Bardsley and Wes Brown in an attempt to form a core nucleus to his team.

Team News

Hull City will miss defender Alex Bruce for this tie as the player is doubtful after picking up a groin injury against Spurs in the Capital One Cup tie in the midweek.

On loan striker from Sunderland Danny Graham (who has yet to find the net) is ineligible against his parent club.

Sunderland have no major injury worries but Poyet has a decision to make regarding giving Fabio Borini a chance to lead the attacking line, after his heroics in the Tyne Wear Derby.

Prediction: 0-1. May be Sunderland could take the spirit from the victory against their rivals last week and could secure another vital three points. They are 5/2 with Ladbrokes to win the match against Hull City.
