Gary Neville is injured, Darren Bent is injured, Woody has a knee injury but is part of the squad, Micah Richards is a late withdrawal so Luke Young comes in. Ashley Cole is suspended for the first game and Crouch is out for surgery on his nose.

Goalkeepers: Robinson (Tottenham), Foster (Man Utd, on loan at Watford), Carson (Liverpool, on loan at Charlton).

Defenders: Richards (Man City) (injury risk), Ferdinand (Man Utd), Terry (Chelsea, capt), Woodgate (Real Madrid, on loan at Middlesbrough) (injured for Israel game), Carragher (Liverpool), A Cole (Chelsea) (suspended for Israel game), P Neville (Everton), Barry (Aston Villa), L Young (Charlton).

Midfielders: Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Lampard (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Parker (Newcastle), Carrick (Man Utd), Dyer (Newcastle), Downing (Middlesbrough).

Israel squad

The Israel squad hasn’t gone through as many changes as the England squad.

Preview / Predictions

England will win away to Israel, they will win away to Andorra and McClaren will hopefully be humble enough to realise that those wins are nothing compared to what the England squad is actually capable of.
