Chelsea have apparently agreed a deal to sell Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado to Juventus.

Reports in Italy claim that although the paperwork has not been done, the Italian champions are confident about wrapping up a deal for the former Fiorentina star.

Cuadrado joined Chelsea during the January transfer window of last season and struggled to get into the side. The Colombian had few chances to prove himself in England and was often dropped in favour of Willian.

Chelsea decided to loan him out during the summer transfer window and it seems that his current employers are happy with how he has fared during his loan spell so far. Juventus have made it clear that the player is happy at the club and they are hoping to reach a positive conclusion with Chelsea soon.

“We have no agreement to [sign him on a permanent basis], it is just a loan [without option to purchase him],” Giuseppe Marotta (Juventus’ general manager) told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. (via Express)

“He’s expressed his happiness at being here with us, and his happiness to continue here in future.

“We’ll look at things with Chelsea at the appropriate time, but it’s very likely that there will be a good conclusion.”

Furthermore, the report states that an agreement in the region of £15.75m is likely to be rubber-stamped once the window reopens in January.

Cuadrado sale makes a lot of sense for a struggling Chelsea side who are in desperate need of reinforcements. The proceeds from the sale could go onto fund some much needed incomings which could propel the champions towards European qualification.
