Louis Van Gaal is looking to add to his team during the January transfer window and it seems that Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben could be on his way to Manchester United.

According to Don Balon, Van Gaal is keen to sign his compatriot and will pay in the region of 70 million euros to land the Dutch star.

Robben is regarded as one of the finest attacking players in the world over the last decade and Van Gaal is convinced that the Bayern winger can propel his side towards the Premier League title.

With Arsenal and Manchester City being inconsistent, Van Gaal knows that one key addition could make a huge difference in the title race and therefore he is ready to break the bank for a world class player like Robben.

The Bayern star has already played in the Premier League with Chelsea and won the title under Jose Mourinho. His experience of playing in England will be vital as he can adapt quickly.

Despite his recent injury problems, Robben is a world class player and Manchester United would have no concerns paying up for him.

Furthermore, if the reported fee is true then Bayern Munich are more than likely to sanction a transfer. Robben is 31 years old and 70 million euros is a lot of money considering his age and physical condition.

As for Manchester United, it could be a clever deal and a short term solution like Robin Van Persie and help them win the title.
