According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are evaluating the future of Karim Benzema and could be willing to replace him this summer.

It is believed that the player is highly valued at the club, but Real Madrid officials are convinced that Benzema is at his peak and there is no scope of improvement in future. Although they consider him as a great striker, the Spanish club could let him go this summer.

The French international has been linked with a move to the Premier League this season and the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are keen.

Fichajes claim that Arsenal are willing to offer 50 million euros for the coveted striker and that Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer.

Previously, various reports stated that Wenger is interested in signing Benzema this summer and that the French striker was his top priority. Further, Arsenal director, Lord Harris confirmed that the club will back Wenger to smash their transfer record this summer.

Arsenal’ need for a striker is no secret and Wenger will be hoping to lure a player of Benzema’ calibre, so that the Londoners can finally match up to the likes of City and Chelsea and win the title once again.

Replacing Benzema won’t be easy for Real Madrid, but they have the resources to do so. Reports suggest that Marco Reus could be the man to replace Benzema at Real Madrid. If there are indeed any truth to these reports, next few weeks could be very interesting and exciting, especially for the Gunners.
