Nani: Tottenham are not a big club

Popular transfer target Nani has spoken out on the clubs chasing his signature, and it’s not good news for Tottenham fans.

Nani talked candidly about both Manchester United and Tottenham, but his views were very contrasting.

Nani (on Tottenham):

“I don’t see where this came up, really. I haven’t heard anything from my agent, and when I had him check out the story, he told me these Tottenham scouts had never even set foot in Portugal, let alone Lisbon.

I don’t know where Tottenham fans get their stories, but I haven’t heard anything.

But why would Tottenham want to sign me anyway? I’m not interested in going to a club that cannot qualify for the Champions League. If I wanted to play in the UEFA cup I would have to go to a smaller club than Lisbon.

Tottenham are not a big club. They are just wasting their time.”

Nani (on Manchester United):

“Yes, I know that Manchester United have been following me since last year, and I’m good friends with Ronaldo.

But to be honest, friendship has nothing to do with this. I have to look after my career, and right now I’m happy with playing at Lisbon.

Of course, things will change if Manchester United come in with a big offer and a fat contract. If Ronaldo moves to Spain, that will make it easier for me. I don’t want competition.

But Tottenham? No way.

Chelsea? Maybe, but who wants to play in that dump of a stadium?”

On Soccerlens:

“You need to write more about me and how I am the biggest thing to come out of Portugal since Ronaldo.

Make sure you compare me to Ronaldo in your article, ok?”

Hmmm…maybe not mate. But thanks anyway for the interview.
