Manchester United icon Roy Keane expects a major overhaul of the playing stuff at Old Trafford and opines that under-pressure manager David Moyes should be given plenty of time to turn things around.

Moyes took the Old Trafford hot-seat in the summer, replacing the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, but has so far failed to instill any sense of positive confidence among the supporters.

United suffered yet another blow as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham at home that leaves them trailing by 9 points behind fourth placed Liverpool.

Although pundits, bloggers and even supporters have criticized Moyes heavily and many have questioned whether he should stay beyond the season, should performance remain the same, but Keane feels that the Scot deserves lot of time here and should be backed with funds.

“I think Man United need five or six players,” keane told itv.com. “If it happens in the summer then instead of being fearful of it, embrace it – it’s exciting.

“They’ve kind of cut corners in terms of transfers in the last few years, they’ve not gone out and got the big players, and it’s just caught up with them this year.’

He added: “I think the man (Moyes) deserves plenty of time. I think people have been afraid to use the word that there might be “rebuilding” going on but that’s exactly the word I would use.”

Manchester United are already out of title race and even getting into top four won’t be an easy task either. Further, they’re out of all domestic cup competitions and Champions League remains their only chance of getting any silverware.
