Darmian playing for Torino, Italian was a big success

Matteo Darmian is all set to become Manchester United’s second major signing of the summer, after reports emerged that a deal has been agreed with Torino. United are looking to wrapping up the deal at the earliest, as they want to include the Torino right-back on the tour to US when it begins on Monday.

According to reports from The Guardian, United have agreed a £12.9m transfer fee with £2m add-ons for Darmian, who will sign a four-year-contract with the option of a further season. The 25-year-old will earn in excess of £30,000-per-week, with added incentives.

Torino manager Giampiero Ventura has now confirmed that Darmian will join Manchester United in the summer, where he can fulfil his dream of playing in the Champions League.

“Matteo Darmian will play for Manchester United. It’s a dream for him,” Ventura said, as quoted by ESPN

“It’s true, Darmian will play in the Champions League with Manchester United.

“Matteo deserves a top team and always dreamed of playing in the Champions League, so now that dream will be realised.”

Turin based newspaper Tuttosport say that Darmian is apparently on his way to Manchester United to undergo a medical. If all things go according to plans, it won’t take much long for the club to announce the deal publicly.

Darmian is a pacy defender who can also operate at centre-back position. He started all of Italy’s group matches at last summer’s world cup in Brazil and has 13 caps for his country so far.
