The 22-year-old made a strong impression in the 2014-15 Serie A season, where he scored 10 goals and adding seven assists for Lazio, but he hasn’t particularly enjoyed a brilliant campaign so far.
Lazio are looking to sign a top defender in January, and they may look to cash in on the player if any interested party is willing to pay a high transfer fee.
Anderson is a terrific talent but he is far from the finished article at the moment. There’s no guarantee that he would hit the ground running at Old Trafford and ease United’s goal scoring woes. But at the same time, he is a special talent, and a risk worth taking.
In Italy, however, they maintain Lazio are holding out for the Brazilian forward. According to Football Italia, Lazio could resist Manchester United’s €48m offer for Anderson.
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on Benfica’s 19-year-old winger Goncalo Guedes. The young Portugal winger is dubbed as the “next Cristiano Ronaldo” and he has scored four goals in 19 appearances this season.
Louis van Gaal has addressed the need to sign a top striker in January. If the reports are to believed the Dutchman has set his sight on Everton’s top scorer this season, Romelu Lukaku.
