The new season has been underway for a few weeks now, and the club is not performing to all of our expectations. Seeing as United haven’t made any high profile signings this summer and the club’s debt keeps increasing, we thought it was fitting to talk about the green and gold campaign, as well as some options of t-shirts you can buy that will help the cause. The topic of football shirts is quite a stingy topic at the moment, with many supporters choosing to boycott the official club kits and but retro Newton Heath kits or green and gold shirts.
The history of Manchester United spans all the way back to 1892, when the club did not wear the now famous red kits, and was not called Manchester United. The club was named Newton Heath and the colours were green and gold, a canary gold which reminds one of today’s Norwich colours. This United supporter made some of his own Green and Gold shirts to show his dislike for the direction the club is moving. This shirt sums up the feelings of most Manchester United supporters, showing the sentiments towards Malcom Glazer. You can get the “Definition of Malcom Glazer Shirt” and the designer will donate 50% of proceeds to M.U.S.T. in support of their efforts.
The Newton Heath Shirt
