According to reports in Corriere dello sport,  Serie A side Fiorentina have set their eyes on Manchester United flop Marouane Fellaini as their summer transfer target. The Viola believe that the Belgian would fall further down the pecking order under new manager Louis Van Gaal after a disastrous debut season at Old Trafford.

The 26 year old was signed by the Red Devils for a whopping £27.5m from Everton last summer but the midfielder has failed to impress in what was a disastrous 2013-14 season for United.

Fellaini is unlikely to feature in Van Gaal’s new era at Old Trafford and the 20 times Premier League Champions might be well off in selling the player rather than allowing him to warm the sidelines in teh coming season.

Fiorentina had earlier loaned United’s Anderson in the January and the Italian side believe they could use their warm relationship with the Red Devils to eke out a deal for Fellaini. Fiorentina are being pressurized to sell one of their prized asset Juan Cuadrado to Barcelona and might use the funds from the sale of the Colombian to acquire the services of Fellaini.
