Manchester United have agreed a three year deal with the former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager is expected to take over from Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season.

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United’s package for Mourinho is on a par with what Man City will pay Pep Guardiola.

Jose Mourinho will take over at Old Trafford on a three-year deal and will pocket £15million-a-season.

The report states that Manchester United have already agreed terms with the Premier League winner, who is also keen to bring in a sporting director.

Mourinho is not too keen on Woodward signing the players for him and will ask the club to appoint the Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta.

Andrea Berta is supposedly close friends with Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Mourinho has already identified his summer targets and will request the appointment of a sporting director to get the deals over the line.

Woodward is expected to concentrate on the commercial side of Manchester United’s operations.

Manchester United have had a very disappointing season so far and after a return to the Champions League last summer, the Red Devils failed to reach the last 16 of the competition.

The Old Trafford outfit are currently fifth in the league table and it seems unlikely that they will finish in the Champions League places this season.
