The transfer window is now closed. But, there’s no stopping of rumours in the press. We will therefore continue to update all the latest gossips and rumours.

Filipe Luis

Premier League Champions Manchester United and French outfit Monaco are reportedly chasing Atletico Madrid’s left-back Filipe Luis.

The 28-year-old was one of the transfer targets for the Red Devils in the January transfer window and have had a £17m bid rejected, as the player opted to stay put.

It is quite clear that struggling manager David Moyes is keen to revamp his squad next summer and with a hefty transfer war-chest, he would be looking to shake up the defence that needs an immediate overhaul.

United’s primary target, Leighton Baines has committed his future to Everton, which has prompted Moyes to look for options elsewhere. According to Mundo Deportivo, Luis continues to be high up of Moyes’ priority list in the summer.

Luis was signed from Real Zaragoza in 2010. He started off as a shaky defender but under Diego Simeone’s tutelage, he has now established himself as one of the best in the league.

The report says that United are not the only one interested in his signature, with AS Moncao boss Claudio Ranieri has shown keen interest in adding him to his star studded squad.

It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United indeed make move for one of the key players of Atletico Madrid who would cost around €22m.
