Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernando has reportedly told Porto he wishes to leave Porto this summer, with Manchester City set to win the race for his signature.
City failed with a bid to land Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala from Porto last month, but will surely return for the pair come the summer, with Fernando seemingly set on a move.

According to the Mirror, Manchester City are in pole position to snap up the midfielder when he leaves the Estádio do Dragão at the end of the season.
Fernando’s current contract with Porto is set to expire in the summer, making him a free agent, and able to choose for which club he will next ply his trade.
Nicknamed the Octopus due to his leggy style of play, and ability to latch onto opponents, Fernando has been at Porto since 2007, and has been a permanent feature in the club’s midfield this season.
If City do get their man this summer, can you just imagine the difficulties that commentators will face with the similar looking Fernando and Fernandinho in the heart of the midfield!
