The personal lawyer of Liverpool star Luis Suarez has revealed the striker would find it hard to turn down on an offer from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Uruguayan international publicly expressed his desire to leave the Merseyside club last summer and was subjected to bid from Arsenal, only to be rejected by the Reds’ chiefs. However, the former Ajax man has been linked with a big money move to the newly crowned
Suarez’s friend and lawyer Alejandro Balbi has admitted it would be hard for the 27-year-old to leave the Anfield club. However, the striker’s representative believes an opportunity to sign for Real would be a dream for his client as Liverpool superstar has always set his eyes on playing in Spain.
“I don’t see (it being) difficult because in football you never know what is going to happen until the last word,” Balbi told in an interview with Radio Statido Cadena Ser.
“When there is an offer from a big club like Real Madrid it is difficult to say no. They are one of the most important teams in the world.”
“Last season, I was at the Santiago Bernabeu watching the Champions League game between Real Madrid and Juventus and I told to my Real Madrid friends: ‘You made a mistake by signing Bale, you had to have bought Suarez instead.'”
“I am answering you more like a friend than as his lawyer. A year ago, I would have said it was very likely he would leave Liverpool but now I really see it as very difficult unless there is a very lucrative offer, Liverpool let him go and he likes the new club.”
“He is currently a Liverpool idol and has gone into the history of a legendary team like Liverpool. And beyond, one always wants to improve. I believe his exit is difficult unless some great European club like Barcelona, Madrid or any other English team are interested.”
“He is happy at Liverpool, even though they failed to win the Premier League they will play Champions League next season and he has won the Bota D’or (Europe’s joint top scorer with Cristiano Ronaldo),” he concluded.
Should Suarez leave his current employers, Liverpool have already found a replacement in the form of Rickie Lambert. The England and Southampton striker has already arrived for a medical over his potential switch from St Mary’s Stadium to Anfield.
