Liverpool take on Southampton at Anfield this Sunday. Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to secure his first win as the manager of Liverpool football club.

After two consecutive draws against Tottenham and Rubin Kazan, the former Borussia Dortmund manager will be looking to repay the tremendous show of faith from the fans with a much needed win at Anfield.

Liverpool’s poor start to the season cost Brendan Rodgers his job. After a massive outlay in the summer, the former Swansea manager struggled to turn it around this season.

Although Liverpool have lost just two games this season (In all competitions), the Reds have drawn an astonishing seven games already.

Liverpool are yet to win a game in October after having played four and Klopp will be looking to end the month on a high.

Meanwhile, Southampton have had a similar start and are level on points with Liverpool. Koeman’s side have also won 3, drawn 4 and lost 2 of their opening 9 Premier League games.

Southampton will be hoping to replicate their last away performance before the international break. The Saints dismantled Chelsea in a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, Southampton have beaten Liverpool at Anfield before and will be hoping to exploit their defensive failings.

Liverpool vs Southampton has been an even contest off late but Klopp will be hoping for a big win with Daniel Sturridge, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino back in the squad for Sunday.

Firmino and Benteke came on as late substitutes against Rubin Kazan and could start against Koeman’s side.

As for Southampton, Sadio Mane has been extremely impressive this season and the wide forward will be looking to influence what could be a very tight game.
