Recently Balotelli claimed that he wants to end his Liverpool career and join Milan permanently, but it seems that the Italian’s wishes will not come true this summer.
Balotelli’s loan deal with Milan has come to an end and he will return to Melwood now.
Silvio Berlusconi said: “There will be several departures as the likes of Alex, [Philippe] Mexes, [Kevin-Prince] Boateng and Balotelli all have deals that will expire.”
Considering the fact that he is not a part of Klopp’s plans for next season, it will be interesting to see what happens with him now. Liverpool clearly want to get rid of him and might have to accept a knockdown fee.
The Italian is on high wages and it is understandable why Liverpool want to get him off their books.
With Sturridge, Origi, Ings, Benteke and Firmino already at the club, Balotelli is unlikely to get any chances.
Meanwhile, in other news, Mario Gotze has been urged to leave Bayern Munich.
The German attacker claimed recently that he wishes to stay and fight for his place under Ancelotti, but Rummenigge has urged Gotze to reconsider his stance.
“We made everything clear to Mario,” he said. “He knows what the club thinks and he knows what the future coach thinks.”
“Mario has to consider for himself whether he wants to constantly get minutes.”
Clearly Bayern don’t want him to stay and he has turned down a move to Liverpool. It seems that the player is focused on Euros for now and wants to see if a strong tournament leaves him with more options in the window.
Dortmund and Liverpool are interested in the player and if Bayern pushes him out, it would be a major boost to his suitors, especially Liverpool. The Reds can outbid Dortmund and the lure of working with Klopp again is always a plus.
