According to recent reports in the English media, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his midfield in the January transfer window and Inter Milan midfielder, Fredy Guarin has been touted as a possible signing.
Central midfield has been a problem for Liverpool since the departures of Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso. Poor form and recurring injuries to the likes of Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen has forced Rodgers to look at his central midfield as an area in need of strengthening.
The Reds are believed to have been alerted about the availability of Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin and the chance to loan the player, with an option to buy, is tempting for the Anfield outfit.
The Reds have lacked a robust presence at the centre of the park this season. An ageing Steven Gerrard has failed to deliver his usual powerful performances of late and Brendan Rodgers is looking to add some tenacity to his midfield in the form of Guarin.
