Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has completed his move to Reading.

BBC are reporting that the Portuguese defender has joined the Championship outfit permanently for a fee of £3.75m.

Having joined Liverpool in 2013, the 23-year-old centre-back struggled to impress the coaches and therefore managed only three appearances for the Reds.

Ilori was loaned out to Aston Villa, Bordeaux and Granada as well, but the Portuguese youth international never quite managed to show the potential that earned him rave reviews during his time at Sporting Lisbon. Ilori was the fastest player ever recorded over 30-metre sprints at Sporting‘s academy set-up, breaking the records of Nani, Quaresma and Cristiano Ronaldo in the process.

Liverpool paid around £7m for Ilori and have decided to cut their losses on the young defender now. With the likes of Joe Gomez and Alexander-Arnold in the side, the 23-year-old had fallen further down the pecking order and was not an option for Klopp even in the cup games.

In other news, James Milner has been ranked as the second best fullback in Europe by the CIES Football Observatory.

The Liverpool left-back was given a rating of 88 and only the Juventus left back Alex Sandro was rated higher than him.

Milner has been fantastic for the Reds as a left back. The England midfielder has also scored 5 goals this season. Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho was ranked as the joint-best attacking midfielder in Europe as well.

The CIES Football Observatory does an analysis of player performance, and to be eligible, players must have played at least 900 minutes of domestic football.
